Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the 2024 Women’s Premier League (WPL). To end their 16-year trophy drought, RCB beat DC by eight wickets and won the WPL trophy on Sunday, March 17, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Led by Smriti Mandhana, RCB completely outperformed DC and emerged victorious in WPL 2024, Season 2.
RCB did not start with a bang in the chase, instead opting for a gradual and steady approach. Chasing a goal of 114 in the tough circumstances of Bengaluru, Mandhana, Sophie Devine, and Elyse Perry secured the franchise’s first-ever trophy. Although the Delhi Capitals would have been happy with their performance, they were unable to pull off the impossible since they did not take enough wickets.
“WPL Title Win is Start of Something Cool For The RCB Franchise,” RCB captain Smriti Mandhana stated.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Smriti Mandhana, accepts the #TATAWPL Trophy from Mr Jay Shah, the BCCI Honorary Secretary, and Mr. Roger Binny, President of the BCCI.
In addition, Smriti Mandhana, the captain of the winning RCB team, shared her thoughts: “Winning this one is special for me and the team as a whole.”

“The feeling hasn’t fully set in yet. I find it difficult to explain myself right now. I will say this: I’m proud of this group of people.
“Our Bangalore leg was excellent. We had two hard defeats when we arrived in Delhi. That’s what we spoke about, and we must step up at the appropriate moment,” she stated.
