Today marks a significant milestone for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). SRH achieved the highest-ever total in IPL history during their match against Mumbai Indians.
Put in to bat first, SRH posted 277 for 3 on the scoreboard against Mumbai. They defeated MI at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
This remarkable feat saw them break the 11-year-old record for the highest team total in an IPL innings. Previously held by Royal Challengers Bangalore, who scored 263/5 in 20 overs against now-defunct Pune Warriors India in 2013.
Aggressive Batting Style by SRH Batters
Heinrich Klaasen spearheaded the attack with a breathtaking 80 off 34. But his journey to a half-century was surprisingly the slowest among Sunrisers Hyderabad batters. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head swapped places for the record of the quickest half-century for SRH.
MI captain Hardik Pandya used six bowlers throughout SRH’s innings, with only Jasprit Bumrah maintaining an economy rate below 10. Kwena Maphaka, a 17-year-old debutant, had a challenging start. He conceded 66 runs from his four overs, marking the most expensive debut in IPL history.
